Hadith Explanation

Madina’s Seven Gates

Abu Bakra narrated that the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "The terror caused by Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal will not enter Medina and at that time Medina will have seven gates and there will be two angels at each gate guarding it." [Sahih Bukhari]

The seven gates of Madina could mean seven entry points or seven main roads into the city. Currently there are seven main roads through which one may enter Madina. Considering the Third Ring Road (which is part King Khalid Road and part Universities Road) as the circumference of Madina, the seven main entry points into Madina are: 1) Omar Bin Al Khatab Road if coming from Rabigh, 2) Hijrah Road coming from Highway 15, 3) the road from Al Har As Sufla going through the neighbourhood of Gashm in Madina, 4) King Abdul Aziz Road, 5) Airport Road , 6) Othman Bin Affan Road and 7) Khalid Bin Al Walid Road if coming from Khayber. It is time for those who believe to seriously reflect.

Audhu billahi min fitnati-Dajjal.
