Hadith Explanation

Physical Forms of Surahs

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Read the Quran, for it will come forth on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions. Read the two shining ones – Surah al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran, for they will come forth looking like two clouds or two patches of mist, or like two flocks of birds spreading their wings, defending their companions.” [Mishkaat al-Masabeeh]

Many texts indicate that deeds will be brought forth on the Day of Resurrection in a form which is known best to Allah (subhana wa ta’ala). For example, the Quran will come forth on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for those who read and acted upon it. Surah al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran will come forth looking like two clouds or two patches of mist, or like two flocks of birds spreading their wings, defending those who read and acted upon them.

So, do read the Quran, think about it, and live your life by it.
