Shaitaan's High Expectations

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Desires and sins sway hearts; and Shaitaan has high expectations of the eye which is raised to look at a non-Mahram.” [Baihaqi]

To create a virtuous society and to protect it from sexual anarchy, the Shariah, among other things, has commanded safeguarding one’s eyes and not looking at non-Mahram women/men.

This is because the eyes serve as a messenger. Not guarding the eyes is the first sign of moral decay and the first step to adultery.

Shaitaan knows that he can expect many bad things to follow after a man or woman look at a non-Mahram.
