Start Combing from Right

“The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) used to like starting from the right in performing ablution, combing his hair and putting on his shoes.” [Sahih Bukhari]

Everybody consciously or sub-consciously copies whoever they think is better than them. We want to be like the people we admire. So if we start from the right in performing ablution (Wudu), in combing our hair, and in putting on our shoes, we are showing our admiration for the person (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) who is most loved by Allah (subhana wa ta’ala). By these simple actions we exhibit out desire to be like the one who has the highest station in the abode of the hereafter.
