Weak and Oppressed in Paradise

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise?” The Sahabah (radi Allahu anhum) said: “Of course.” He (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Every weak and oppressed person; if he were to implore Allah for anything, He would grant it to him.” [Bukhari]

Most of those who enter Paradise will be people who were weak and destitute in the world. They were those whom we usually ignore, care little about, and easily trample over. But in the sight of Allah they are important. They are important because they fear Him and worship Him faithfully with humility.

Commenting on this hadith, An-Nawawi said: “It refers to those whom others despise, scorn and oppress because of their weak position in this world. What is meant is that most of the people of Paradise will be of this type, but it does not mean that all of them will be (in Paradise).”
