A bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam): “I want to be the best of men.”
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) replied: “Do good to others and you will be the best of men.” [Related by Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal]

May Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) keep alive in us the desire to be the best of people for His sake. Ameen.
